Developer plans mixed-use project with medical theme in Aventura

Rieber Developments unveiled plans for a mixed-use project in Aventura that will focus on health care, dining and shopping.

The 12|12 Aventura project would be located near Aventura Hospital & Medical Center and have about 300 medical practices nearby. Bernardo Rieber, principal of Rieber, discussed his preliminary plans with the Business Journal in May after purchasing land for his project, which will be located at 21290 Biscayne Blvd.

He’s currently building the Ivory 214 medical and professional office condo nearby, along with a Tapestry Collection by Hilton Hotel.

The 12-story 12|12 Aventura would have 150 senior living units, 30,000 square feet of medical offices, and 30,000 square feet of commercial space, including a food hall. It was designed by Arquitectonica. ID & Design International is the interior designer.

The office condos will be listed for sale with Cervera Real Estate.

“Our vision for 12|12 Aventura and the Aventura Medical District is to meld community, culture, health and wellness with unmatched convenience for our tenants, patrons and residents,” Rieber said. “We believe healing begins with architecture, and when we set out to develop this project we ensured every element was thoughtfully designed with this in mind.”

The developer plans to break ground on the project in December 2019 and complete it in 2021. The general contractor is Winmar Construction.
